Private/Parochial Parent Meeting @ Chaska High School Blue Forum

This meeting is for parents of private/parochial school students who are considering Chaska High School for their student. Our principal will address helpful topics for families who may be concerned about their student’s transition to a new school district or high school. These topics will include:

  • High student expectations for behavior and academics
  • Morals and discipline in our schools
  • Class sizes and staff ratio
  • Special curriculum topics and advanced courses
  • Student faith/religion in a public school

School Picture IDs, Parking Permits, Planners and Schedule Distribution

Monday, August 21st from 8:00am-7:00pm

Tuesday, August 22nd from 8:00am-4:00pm

*Note:  Counselors are not available on these dates.  Schedule change dates will be listed in our August newsletter.

ALL STUDENTS are required to have pictures taken for Student IDs.  There is no charge for a picture ID taken by Lifetouch.  Optional packages are available for purchase.  Lifetouch picture packet is enclosed.  If you are unable to make it to one of the days above, there is a make-up picture day on September 6th.   Picture retake day is October 6th.

Parent helpers are needed for student pictures and volunteers will receive an incentive for working on picture day.  Please contact Cindy Brazil at 952-556-7101 or email her at brazilc@district112.org for more details.

Students may purchase parking permits in the purple office beginning August 21st. In order to purchase a permit you must have all books, uniforms and instruments returned and/or all fines paid, complete the permit application with signatures of both the student and parent/guardian and present a valid driver’s license in person.  Parking permits are $220.00 for the year and must be paid in full (no payment plans).

New Student Welcome Celebration/Activities Fair/Curriculum Night

Who: All 9th grade and new students and their parents / guardians recommended. All families and students invited.
What: Activities / Resource Fair and Dinner
Where: CHS Commons

Parents and Guardians for 9th grade and new students can join their son or daughter at the Activities and Resource Fair at 6:00pm. Learn about athletics, activities, and clubs at CHS. Take care of last minute details with school nutrition, the main office, the nurse and more. Purchase a burger or hot dog from the CHS Boosters.

All Parents and 9th Grade and New Student Welcome Celebration / Orientation – 6:30-7:00pm

What: CHS welcome celebration
Where: CHS Gymnasium / CHS

Ninth grade and new students and their parents / guardians are requested to our beginning of the year celebration and orientation at Chaska High School. Learn about academics, activities, arts, and athletics at Chaska High School. Hear about CHS programming, supports, and opportunities for partnership. Feel our pride. It is recommended that all 9th grade and new students and their families attend.

All Student and Family Back-to-School Kick-off and Curriculum Night – 7-8:15pm
Who: All students and parents / guardians
What: CHS Open House
Where: Chaska High School. The entire building is open

All students and families are invited. Find your locker. Try your locker combination. Walk your schedule to find your classrooms and meet your teachers. This is a great opportunity to speak with staff and for students to become comfortable in the building before school begins.

Picture Retake Day

Lifetouch will be here for the last time this year on Friday, October 6th.  If you would like to have a retake, you must bring your original picture packet and give it to the photographer at the time of retake.

This is the last chance to have your picture taken for the school year.  All students in grades 9-11 must have their picture taken for their school ID.  Optional picture packets are available for purchase.

Parent Teacher Conferences @ Chaska High School Commons
Oct 17 @ 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Conferences are conducted arena style in the Commons. You may park on the west side of the building and enter through the activities door. Please bring your student with you to conferences as they are an integral part of the process.

Prior to arriving for conferences you should look-up/print your student’s progress report from Parent Portal. This report will show your student’s current grades and teacher’s names. Please note that paper copies of student’s grades and/or schedules will not be distributed at conferences. You can locate the progress report in Parent Portal under Reports. If you have not already activated your Parent Portal account, this would be a great time to sign up. Staff will be available at the welcome table.
